The Mission of Soaring Wings Ranch

“…even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…” — Isaiah 40:30-31

This passage from the Bible is the verse that encapsulates the entire purpose of the Ranch.  There are kids all over the world, America, and Arkansas that, for one reason or another, do not get the love they deserve from their families.  Even whether they get their basic needs met is in question at times.  Drugs, abuse, neglect, poverty, instability, abandonment, behavioral problems…these are all circumstances that can leave a child standing alone and struggling to survive without parental love, but this isn’t how it must be.

For the children of Central Arkansas, they have Soaring Wings Ranch, which began as a dream in 1997 when Andrew Watson realized after working in social services for children that the answer for many of the problems that the children faced would be best dealt with if they were removed from the environment they were in and given a HOME.  The wonderful thing about The Ranch Ride, The Soaring Wings Half Marathon, donating directly to the Ranch, or volunteering in some capacity is that it all goes directly towards providing just that…a HOME.  With the the love and stability the Ranch provides, even the children who may only stay for several months are suddenly moved from standing alone or fighting to soaring!

We hope you find a way to use The Ranch Ride as YOUR opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of the kids of Soaring Wings.
